Sharp-tail Grouse, English Pointer, English Setter and Hunters – I love to hunt sharpies. Here in Idaho we have Columbians which are a bit smaller than the prairie birds depicted in this painting. Whenever I go pheasant hunting in South Dakota I am out after the sharptail before the pheasant shooting time. My buddies call them bonus birds but they are the main prize as far as I’m concerned. To me you just can’t beat the chuckling of a bunch of sharpies when they take flight.
