Charlie’s Moon – Judith Basin, MT

I saw this moonrise while camping on the prairies of Montana. I had visited the C.M. Russell museum in Great Falls a few days earlier and I couldn’t get over how the colors of the evening were so reminiscent of Charlie Russell’s palette. The title came to me long before the painting was painted.
