Lone Tree – Judith Basin, MT

30+ miles down a dirt road on BLM land, Judy and I found a promising area to set up a camp and hunt for a few days. To the south of our site stood a lone tree, standing defiantly to the harsh environment it made as it’s home. I love to work from memory and this is a perfect example. Three months later in the studio I drew it as I remembered it. The tree I saw still had a few leaves hanging on but I wanted to portray it stark and barren like the landscape around it.
